Research Fellow, Deakin University

Dr. Srikanth Mateti is a distinguished materials scientist and Research Fellow at the Institute for Frontier Materials (IFM), Deakin University. With over a decade of expertise in nanotechnology and mechanochemistry, he specializes in the synthesis of advanced nanomaterials, including boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) and "white graphene."
His groundbreaking research centers on solving global energy challenges. Dr. Mateti played a pivotal role in developing a world-first solid-state gas storage method, utilizing mechanochemical processes to store and transport hydrogen safely. This innovation earned him the 2019 Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to Industry and Employer Partnerships.
Certified Materials Professional (CMatP), he has authored numerous high-impact publications and holds a PhD from Deakin University. Currently, he leads projects funded by Australia’s Economic Accelerator (AEA) to commercialize green energy technologies while supervising PhD candidates in the fields of sustainable energy storage and advanced material engineering.
