Dr.
Riccardo Perfetti
is a highly accomplished endocrinologist and pharmaceutical executive with over two decades of leadership in clinical development and medical affairs. He most recently served as the Chief Medical Officer and Head of R&D at Applied Therapeutics from 2018 to 2025, where he directed clinical programs for rare metabolic diseases and diabetic complications. Prior to this, he spent over a decade at Sanofi, holding senior roles including Vice President and Head of Global Medical Affairs for the Diabetes and Cardiovascular Business Unit.His extensive career also includes leadership positions at Amgen and a distinguished academic tenure as an Associate Professor at UCLA and a Professor at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Perfetti earned his MD and PhD in Endocrinology from Sapienza University of Rome and completed specialized training at Johns Hopkins University. He is widely recognized for his expertise in diabetes research and molecular endocrinology.
